What? Sounds like a drink with vodka in it :) No, sorry its not, its actually being conscious while you sleeping. I have been reading a book on how to do this, and, wow. I cant wait untill i have the ability to do anything i want in my dreams. It takes up to a month to be prepared for doing it but once you can it is amazing. I have read accounts of a man who was a decent violinist. In his dream he rehearsed a song he had only heard once in front of an entire auditorium. He didnt miss a single note. But its just a dream right? He sight read the piece a day later and missed only a few notes. I also read that in this state of lucidity your mind is able to learn, obviously making it easy to practice an insturment while sleeping. And yes, you most irrotic fantacies can come true, i though the same thing you were :) One of the most interesting things as a student i found is that i would have the ability to study for tests in my sleep, also having my teacher right at my side the entire time, or anyone else for that fact. Im woundering what everyone else thinks about this. Please tell!

I've read good things about this. If you have success, i'd love to know. I want to try it but im not sure if its worth the effort.

wait, erotic dreams on command? yeah i am!

:P

do you have any good links?

I rolled up a nice Jay yesterday, better than any dream (lucid or not)!

On a serious note, I looked into this once. I learned that one of the first steps to achieving lucidity is to have a 'dream journal', where one records their dreams when they wake up. I stopped pursuing lucid dreams then and there :P

yea, i'd love to get into this. but if you have to remember your dreams, i'd phail.. i haven't remembered a dream in years

Really? Strange, I always remember my dreams. And not just for a while, but for a long time, like an event that actually happened. Whenever I'm in a dream, it doesn't take me long to realize that I am in a dream. I can actually wake up at will once I know that I am dreaming, however I cannot seem to stay in a dream that I actually like for as long as I want, so that's a bummer. Looking at the description of lucid dreaming, it seems like something I always do. I just lie there for awhile, then sooner or later I'm asleep apparently. My dreams are pretty solid, but I can't imagine learning too much inside them, though one time I did learn something that I'm pretty sure I didn't know before so that was pretty cool. I was working on another sleeping technique in which one closes their eyes for what seems like only a moment, but when you open them again, hours have passed by in what seemed like only a second. So far, I've only been able to do this three times, but I'm getting used to it. I think it's one of the best sleeping methods since every time I wake up from one of those instant naps, I can immediately recall the previous train of thought I had before I went to sleep. This would be great for those who don't want to doze off and then wake up and forget to do something important.

My dream recall is generally quite good.

That's one thing that I have benefited from at least trying to lucid dream.

I have now got to the point where I can pretty much induce dreams (ie, make myself dream and remember it), so it can't be far from lucidity...

Saying that though, my overall recall has been {censored} recently - I forget what day it is half the time :)

it's funny, my weed habit means I usually don't dream anymore (or I never remember them). I get some crazy dreams when i stop smoking for a week or two though :D

If I smoke sometime before I sleep, I don't remember dreams as much either. Sleep like a baby though :P

Dreams > Getting stoned, losing your memory and getting caught by the police :)

Just wait 'till dreaming becomes illegal. Henry Geiger, a leading scholar on the legal policies of Canada said in 2005:

After taking everything to account, there is no doubt in my mind that dreaming will be outlawed sometime before 2025.

So which is better:

getting high and getting caught by the cops or;

dreaming and getting caught by the cops?

Both, why not do both, because then you would get to do both. Also, that is the most retarded thing I have ever heard.

More info on lucid dreaming and less about getting stoned, please!

Id love to be able to do this as it would be very helpful for college....and em....stuff!

Its strange how dreams affect your thoughts even well after youve stopped dreaming.

There was one case where i was going out with a girl on saturday night, but on friday night i had a weird dream that she had slept with my friends dad!?!?!

So when i met up with her on saturday, all i could think to myself was " YOU {censored}"....even though she had done nothing.

Maybe it was my brain trying to protect me or something, i honestly believe, that in some cases, my sub-concious is allot smarter than my concious!!

I always dream before sleeping.

I dream of flying, of course. Thats my favorite hobbie in my dreams. To be falling, to fly, etc.

Here some dreams i have had:

1. Stoling a bike of someone. He was very angry. When i remembered that dream, awoke of course, eating my lunch, i was like "haha, you idiot!!, you will never see me again" lol sorry but it was kind of cool to get away from someone who was in your dreams

2. I have controlled my dreams from time to time. It is cool, specially when its the flying dream. I can fly, and i know its a dream, but still enjoy it, cause i dont worry of falling or something.

3. The worst, its the called "se te subio el muerto" (here in mexico). You see nothing, everything its black. Suddenly you begin to try to move, but you can't. Then you get a little bit scary. You try to scream for someone near you to wake you up, but again, you can't. It's even worst when there is not black, but someone trying to killing you.

Etc.

Dreams are so cool. Much more than having a hackintos :D

You'll need something called a 'Nova Dreamer' to do it correctly. You can do it without a Nova Dreamer but it is MUCH harder and the results aren't as good. Try this or this site, they are well known. BTW did you know that many of mans greatest inventors and artist used lucid dreaming? It brings out the creativity in you and now NASA is even using it to design robots that will be going to Mars.

Your dreams are what you make them. Lucid dreaming is nothing more than your conciousness dictating to your sub-concious. Its called being 1/2 awake, and 1/2 asleep. Its possible without kooky books if you follow a path of thoughts before you fall into sleep.
