hellspawn
Hi! I have downloaded the current version of Saft for Leopard 10.5.2 and installed it as an InputManager Plugin. As far as I understand it, Saft should now automatically load whenever I launch Safari. Unfortunately it doesn't. I don't see the "About Saft..." Menu item and there's also no Saft page in Safari preferences. When I run Saft as Safari launcher, everything works. Is it supposed to be this way or am I making a mistake somewhere? hellspawn
Is nobody else using Saft or am I the only one with this problem? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90051-saft-as-inputmanager-plugin/#findComment-647116 Share on other sites
Headrush69
Works fine here. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90051-saft-as-inputmanager-plugin/#findComment-647140 Share on other sites
hellspawn
Thanks for your answer! I downloaded a tool called "Input managers" which fixes permissions for InputManager-plugins. When I ran it, it fixed something but Saft still doesn't work as a plugin. I also read an article that said some plugins don't work when a ~/Library/InputManagers folder is present. I checked this but I have no such folder. I have no idea then, why it doesn't work for me. vaporATX
Don't know, works fine for me also. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90051-saft-as-inputmanager-plugin/#findComment-647524 Share on other sites
hellspawn
I installed Saft on my HackMac today and it works there. So it's only my MacBook where it wouldn't run as expected. It doesn't seem to be user-specific, because on another user's account on my MB it's the same. hellspawn
I found the solution: On http://developer.apple.com/releasenotes/Co...#NSInputManager is a list of conditions that must be safisfied for an InputManager plugin to be loaded. One is that the user may not be member of the wheel group, which I had added my user account to. After removing my account from the wheel group everything works :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90051-saft-as-inputmanager-plugin/#findComment-652693 Share on other sites
