kalyway
Alright. I boot up my kalyway disc for installation Everything is fine (I'm not using the -v option...) then I get this error... It's just an apple logo. Stuck there. It's been there for an hour. FYI, there is no on the bottom. Just an apple logo. I tried rebooting twice and I get still this error. I TRIED to use the vanilla kernel (-v), but I get loads of lines which don't really look like errors but they've been there for around an hour too, so I presume they are. It's saying it's "waiting" for something. Thanks a lot! midd
Hi Guys! Same problem here When installing KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3 on Toshiba L30-10X I get same symptoms as in first post. Then I tried to set "-v" key and I get repeatedly "still waiting for root device". Any suggestions? Thanks! nicpon
I have the same problem on my IBM T42. Installation went fine, but on reboot its sitting with apple logo for ever. I did another reboot with -v -x option and this is what happens (attached screen shot). Does anyone know why its hanging at this point? Shinchy
I get the same issue (seems a lot of people also have this issue) my stalls on an error 'unknown SIGSEGV code 0' hunting around the forums and web (what little else there is out there for osx86) I believe it's often a case of not installing the correct patches. My issue is; I don't know how to apply a patch. nicpon
I added ACPI patch (both selections when you expand the tree) rebooted with -v -x option and it loaded up after 10 minutes. The screen shot attached is taken at the point I was waiting for 10 minutes. I almost rebooted and started new installation with different settings and then the after installation configuration screen came up. I have a question regarding doing software updates on Leo. I have 10.5.2, but I wanted to have at least 10.5.4 then if I perform an update through the self update tool it will crash the whole thing. Is that correcrt? Shinchy
How did you apply a patch!? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89388-stuck-on-apple-logo-booting-kalyway-installation/#findComment-968055 Share on other sites
nicpon
I reinstalled with additional patch selected. But, I just noticed that I'm still not fully running. After rebooting it hangs on the apple screen with loading bar completely stopped, uff it just came back. Shinchy
This may be where my issue lies; as I don't have any such option. Is there a setting you use to get this up!? like, -v or -um etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89388-stuck-on-apple-logo-booting-kalyway-installation/#findComment-968116 Share on other sites
nicpon
That option is available when you customize your installation, not after. Even though the system is coming up its not very stable. It hangs sometimes for no reason. Shinchy
Hey, I am a retard; I found the customise menu and it was staring me in the face the whole time. I installed the AMD Patch (the first one) and it seemed to fix it up for me (in fact I'm typing from my OSX install right now).
