When i start booting to the disc, if i wait for the countdown this error shows up 'com.apple.boot.plist not found'

I checked the disc and the file is in there

/Library/Prefrences/systemconfiguration

If i dont wait for the countdown and hit enter it boots and installs

but then when i try to boot into OSX it just sits at the blinking " _ "

Ive looked and have not found a definite solution.

Could someone please help me?

I have had this problem in the past.

My guess is your partition is not active :)

Before you try to reinstall try this.

-put the install dvd in the drive and push F8 at start up. NO quotes while typing these in, OK!

- type "-s"

-after you get to the prompt type w/o quotes "fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0" (replace the 0 after rdisk for the # of your disk, If you only have one it will be

rdisk0

-type "flag 1" (change 1 after flag for your partition # you want to make active, if you only have 1 partiton it will be 1)

-type "exit"

-type "reboot"

If that does not work you need to reinstall again.

Make sure to always unmount your drive with disk utility, before you reinstall this time.

Hope I helped more than confused :(

Good Luck
