phoebus Posted August 22, 2005 Share Posted August 22, 2005 I've managed to get one of the few SSE3 CPU (3.0 GHz P4 HT 1m l2 cache) compatible with my 'old' socket 478 mobo. I don't need a SSE3->SSE2 patch anymore, I was using Maxxuss wonderful 0.4 patch. To revert my installation I've done this: i've took the marklar dvd and copied this file bak in the installation: /mach_kernel /usr/libexec/oah750 /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /System.../CoreGraphics I've kept oah750d In VMWare all seems fine..Have I unpatched the system correctly ? The rest shouldn't be needed with SSE3 CPUs. Congrats on getting an SSE3 chip. duggyb Posted August 29, 2005 Share Posted August 29, 2005 just so you know those chips are not that rare....you can still buy them today and %95 of the motherboards out there with socket 478 support the Presscott core or in otherwords SSE3......presscott was around long before people ever thought it was.!
