Thanks guys, Ryan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87941-does-anyone-know-how-to/ Share on other sites

Carvinite
The only thing that my computer recognizes about it is that it is a USB device, but it doesn't show up in "My Computer"...I'll have to go look in disk management. It comes up as a "mass storage device".....And I don't know where to go to formatt from here...Is there anything you can tell me that might point me in the correct direction? Thanks alot,Ryan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87941-does-anyone-know-how-to/#findComment-626554 Share on other sites

Korrupted
Hmm. Let's take another direction. Win + R -> cmd -> diskpart -> list disk. See if your disk shows up there. skyhighmac
Your PC doesn't see your mac drive because it is formatted as HFS+ (I assume). You need software to be able to see the drive. Carvinite
Ahhhhh, Thanks, thats probably correct, is there any software that you know of that i could use? Thanks alot!RyanI'm still not sure though, because windows recognizes it as an "External Storage Device"??? This sucks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87941-does-anyone-know-how-to/#findComment-626593 Share on other sites
Headrush69
Your PC doesn't see your mac drive because it is formatted as HFS+ (I assume). You need software to be able to see the drive. There are a few "bad" USB enclosures that may need drivers but Windows XP/Vista should have the appropriate drivers to handle USB storage devices. Easiest solution, just download the gparted livecd, boot from it and do what you need. skyhighmac
The computer should be able to see the usb controller, just not the partition. I don't know of any free software off of the top of my head.
