It works great, on my GUID with EFI I still had to make the HDD bootable seperately!

SticMAN

have kalyway on a tablet, was wondering if anyone knew if superduper would work on it to backup the whole drive? thinking about this before trying 10.5.2 upgrade.

thx

psychoboogie,

Real macs do not use a regular style boot sector, instead they rely on EFI/OpenFirmware to boot the system then pass off to the installed OS ..

Most cloning tools for macs do not do a complete HDD backup but instead start at the root file system .. as all macs already have either EFI or OpenFirmware ..

I found one tool Hatchery CloneTool which is supposed to be able to backup both the file system and a boot sector, however I have not needed to use it yet .. my previous clone was done with Carbon Copy Cloner and I just manually put in my boot sector using the dd, startupfiletool and bless commands as I need to use EFI on MBR for my system ..
