dsean
Help a noob out. [And yes, I've searched high and low to try to figure out where I'm screwing up] System specs:Intel 2.2 [e4500]Asus P5K MoBo (where I suspect the problem is] 500GB SATA Hard Drive SATA DVD Burner 4 GB Ram I've installed Kaylway CD with correct drivers. it reboots. I get the white Apple screen and it freezes. I've reinstalled with essentially every combination out there. I believe the problem might be with the Jmicron controller, but I don't know how to get around that [i'm trying to learn, but am still quite new - I think I might need to add a kext to the installer, but don't really know how to do that]. When I start up in -v, it seems to stop at ocspd[91], though I am not certain that it stops there everytime. Also, I cannot start in safe mode. Any ideas? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I've spent the last 2 nights trying to get this to work and am probably missing something very basic. Thanks.
abr227
Try booting with the -x flag (safe mode). If this doesn't work then install the Kalyway DVD with none of the audio/video drivers. I had a very similar problem (freezing at the apple logo screen) and it turns out the graphics drivers were to blame. Hope this can help you out.
