Go to HP's site,and pull the appropriate BIOS from there. You must flash the BIOS from windows!!!

ok, i've downloaded f.1d bios version from this list

just use software from hp to downgrade the bios...

I have a TX1140ea tablet pc and have installed Leo4all V3 ....unfortunately the V2 did not want to install in no way whatsoever! So.. I have ethernet working with the Forcedeth V pkg, sound with azalia, correct screen res with the Nvidia kexts from the TX1000 zip file (tried removing the IONDrive kext but had to put it back after no booting at all after) also installed the PS2Controller kext after having big trouble booting , it only booted if Synaptics Touchpad V.6.3 came up during verbose mode. Wifi still no go but i use the Sitecom 3ooN dongle with some drivers I found on their site (railink 2870 usb from some other dongle) it really goes fast so I'll stick with it for the time being :) I still have several problems on booting as the 'IOKit waiting for quiesce' sometimes freezes , looking around it's something to do with the network card so maybe i have to disable it from the bios...will be trying this later, meanwhile if anyone has any ideas about this small matter i would be grateful. All in all mac os x goes really fast and smoothly so I'm trying things out on tiptoe so as not to have to install again! I have never used mac in my life before so it's enjoyable to try this out :D . Skype functions with usb phone though no audio through on board headphones, MP4 play fine, as does iTunes with my iPod Touch (which is what set me on to Mac), multi media reader works with anything put in it , express card.....haven't tried this yet but i will soon.

Broadcom 4321 wifi

Nforce nic

Nvidia Geforce 6150 Go 64MB shared memory

Can you describe me how you have installed audio please? I'm trying several days but without results... ;) Thanks a lot!

Basically (I'm assuming this would be the same on the tx1000) on my tx2000, I just selected the AzaliaAudio kext during installation of Leo4All v2, and then I had audio but a little kext error or something at boot came up. I simply downloaded and installed

TarugaALC862Installer2.zip

from this thread

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859

And audio still stayed on, but the error at boot disappeared.

As a note, volume control does not work, but if your software supports volume control within itself it still works, so I can still listen to music in iTunes at a reasonable volume.

Additionally, for the tx2000, I had to downgrade to f.04, which I could not do from miniPE (a windows xp live cd) due to permissions errors. I simply quickly re-installed a copy of vista, and did the deed in there and voila! I have sound! (Yes, wyzazz, it's all good you don't have to worry about it)

But in all serousness, let's get BACK TO GETTING QE/CI on this tablet.

I really want to screw around with time machine and iLife and Aperture and iWork (that doesn't seem to work fully either)

I think I should make a checklist or something of just what needs to be done.

I'm sure there's enough people with the tx 1000/2000 series tablets for this to be important enough to garner developer's interest. I mean, c'mon! A FULLY FUNCTIONING MAC TABLET WITH HIGH SPECS FOR UNDER A GRAND?

This is a seriously awesome goal we can all work towards. My only wish is that I knew how to code. I would spend the rest of this summer getting it to work if I had to.

PLEASE, anyone, I will use this laptop as a guinea pig, I can install OS X and re-install it like a million times, there's no problem, I can wipe it clean, WHATEVER.

I just really want to make it 100% functional.

Thanks Dojomann! I've a TX1140ea. If try to install the AzaliaAudio from the site, leo doesn't start. I must remove the AudioFamily dir to startup. I'll try the Taruga patch, but I don't know what is my audio VEN and DEV (i have removed win).

If anyone have other info, please describe the steps...

EDIT: mmmm, with TarugaALC862Installer2.zip doesn't work.... Idon't know if i must downgrade the bios.... Dooh! Only the audio doesn't work.... I have the 99% functionality i think!

@Dojomann

Great to hear that you got everything up and running! If you need anything from me, feel free to send me an email or PM (dwyszynski@gmail.com).

@ginosih

I will send you those files on Monday if you don't have everything up and running by then.

ok.tnx.i'm wait

Hey guys, I've successfully updated to 10.5.4, but I've broken sound. How do I make it work again? I've tried my previous method (the TarugaALC862Installer2.zip thing) but it doesn't work, so I'M stuck now lol.

Also, I'm tinkering with kernel versions, and I'd like to install the 9.4.0 kernel to test. I'm gonna go ahead and try it out. I'll post results in a bit. If it takes long for me to get back here, chances are I've bricked it lol.

EDIT: I'm now running modbin 9.4.0 kernel and mac OS X 10.5.4 on a tx2000. Success!! Still no sound though.

Anyone that can help me... I've TX1140EA, Leo4all3 update to 10.5.3! I just want to make sound good!

First off, Leo4all v3 doesn't seem to work well with tx1000/2000 series laptops. I'd start with leo4all v2, and update it to 10.5.3 and then 10.5.4.

The 10.5.3 update package can be found at the bay of pirates if you look for it ("10.5.3 Update for AMD Working")

Then get the 10.5.4 update package at this thread : http://leo4all.uni.cc/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=269

It also includes the 9.4.0 modbin kernel which I'm currently running.

To install kernels I'd use the kernel installer included, and don't forget to install the kext which comes with the 9.4.0 kernel.

in between updates, just to make sure I'd go ahead and repair kext permissions every time. I don't know if it's necessary, but I did anyways.

@ All

What does everyone think of a new thread being started?!! I will volunteer to start it and maintain the first post, if we go ahead and agree to start this up I have a few things that I think we should all give input on.

1. Where should this new thread be located?

2. What should we call this new thread? "HP tx1000/2000 Leopard Install (Work In Progress)" <- just a thought, feel free to elaborate/change

3. What should the first post be? Obviously we need a link to all the files and such that we use, and some instructions on how to make these lappys work with Leo4Allv2, I was thinking of copying and adding to what I posted on the Wiki, as well as what doesn't work for each laptop model currently.

Let me know what you guys think! My hope is that this makes all of our information easier to find for other tx owners and that we may draw some more talent to our pool so we can get our ongoing issues resolved. Post some things for me to compile a "First Post" and we can get this thing off the ground and moving!!!

(wyzazz, sorry for sending you a copy of this, i think it was my wireless acting up)

Alright, well to begin with we will mention Leo4All v2, and post the contents of the osx86 wiki (clean it up a little and update procedures) which I think was made by you wyzazz, wasn't it?

Anyways, past that I think it'd be useful to post the proper way to upgrade to 10.5.3 and then to 10.5.4, and change to the 9.4.0 modbin kernel.

Also, I don't know if it's the new kernel but I no longer have to choose hard drive boot from the F9 boot menu when my computer starts, all I have to do is double-tap the power button.

Umm, additionally, I figure it's useful to have a concrete checklist of progress thus far, in a coherent order (probably from core components, to miscellaneous tweaks, and a separate boot section).

Lastly, I still really want to garner interest from all the developers to help further this project along. I can't stress enough how much we need their talent.

Hello,

Thank you to all the work that has gone into this thread. I'm using Leo4all v2 on my TX2000z. Two questions...can anyone confirm that the touchkit contained in the zip from http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...avilion_tx2000z actually works on the tx2000z? I can install it, I can open it, but the calibration button will not launch anything. Very frustrating.

Second question, does anyone else have trouble with their internet connection freezing? I've tested out safari and firefox and the entire computer will freeze after about a minute of either browser being open.

Thanks much. Any help is appreciated.

@wyzazz:

Hello dude, It's been a little while since I posted here... anyway, I think I came back just in time.

I happen to disagree with you about the convenience of starting a new thread.

A new thread means people leaving (or never arriving to) old ones, forces and efforts dividing, but most of all: i think that even if we try to make the greatest summary of advances reached in this one, there will be things that scape to our eyes and so on, from the eyes of new readers that won't go trough all these pages and then, possibly won't find the solutions they need.

If there was an ultimate methode available, wich will work 100% right on 100% of cases, then I would consider useful to start a new thread to avoid people wasting their time. It's not the case, so I need to give thumbs down to this idea.

Hope you find this comment useful, and hope you don't take this personnaly, cause it's not.

Regards, and keep the good work!

Yep, TouchKit only seems to work for the tx1000 series tablets, because they only have the one passive digitizer. The tx2000 series have 2 digitizers (passive and active) which actually seem to conflict with one another in Mac OS X, and they aren't detected by TouchKit.

EDIT: not to be ignoring TheOne's post, I guess I can see where you're coming from. Come to think of it, I just wish we could edit the first post or something.

Also, I don't seem to have the internet problem, the whole computer stays solid but the wireless seems to die out randomly. That's probably just my router being finnicky, and I don't get a good signal upstairs anyhow. If you haven't already I'd try re-installing, and making sure that your forcedeth driver is not corrupt (assuming that's the one you used)

Dear all,

I have been following up this thread and finds it rather interesting and can't wait to try all of your teaching. However, before I do so, may I know if the Leopard would perform better than Windows Vista (which came with my model tx1210) as currently I find that Vista is running really sluggish with 1GB ram only.

@...TheOne...

No offense taken, just an idea about starting a new thread so we could edit the first post. As things sit right now we cannot, and no one has seen the topic starter in some time. I will attempt to PM him/her to see if I can get the first post changed/updated as that would be an ideal solution...

@borgsquad

Anything you put on your lappy will be faster than Vista with 1GB RAM. Just my $.02...
