spock84
Works just fine if I set maxmem=2048 at boot. What's going on? Any way to fix this? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87017-kernel-panic-with-4gb-ram/ Share on other sites

xavier2
Depending on your CPU speed you'll need to decrease the memory speed at BIOS setup. And some RAM like Corsair needs to have voltage at 2.2 V. Check your MB manual to do this. radov4n
Works just fine if I set maxmem=2048 at boot. What's going on? Any way to fix this? This has been covered many times. ICH9/ICH9R have problem with 3.3GB+ in IDE mode. Switch to AHCI you'll be fine. marcusmaia
Thanks guys, Setting maxmem=2048 resolve my problems with Leopard, kalyway 10.5.2 with kernel 9.1.0. I test with Netkas 9.2.0 kernel too, but my USB don´t automount my external drivers. I have a 4GB Corsair DDR2 667 mem, in a hackintosh made for video editing, running Apple Final Cut 6.0.3, After Effects CS3 and many others programs. I made a exaustitive teste now, with 2048GB, with 3 proccess runing at same time, and all works fine. I will try other tests. Thanks for now!
