I was looking at buying an hp9700t with dual hds.

Does anyone see a problem with installing xp on one hard drive and osx on the other, and adjust bios prior to booting as to which hard drive to use? Or is a standard dual OS better?

And are there other big issues with and hp pavilion 9700t (the hp thread seems a bit inactive)?

Thanks in advance!!

i have a hp dv9500, i had no problems installing vista on first hard drive and leopard on second. I do have a problem setiing up leopard, as i currently cant get past "com.driver.apple.ACPIPlatform has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi; use only one style". other than that, i used ubuntu grub bootloader to triboot and everything works fine, except settin up leopard. other than that, great laptop and the two hard drives are nice.

Peppie - What you mention looks like a driver trying to call library code. i would guess you need to set an environemental variable or modify and XML config file telling the driver to use one of the two possible calls to either apple.kernel OR com.apple.kpi.... Or, there may be an environemental variable/XML file (kext?) that is listing two libraries and you need to list only one or set the "style"... At what point does this error occur? Can you run a terminal (unix window) OR does leopard run at all? these are total guesses as i havent yet installed leopard (cuz i dont have a computer for it yet :P but i have done a lot of programming.

Anybody else successfully runnig leopard on an hp 6000 or hp9000 wanna chime in?

I have a HP 9700T with 2 hard drives and I was able to install the Kalyway 10.5.2 without much issue. I picked the Vanilla Kernel and I used a generic video card setting. I got it fired up no problem and then I updated the 8600MGS kext so the video would support 1600x1050. I am at work so I don't have the specifics on the top of my head (I did this like a month ago) I did post in the WIKI under laptops for 10.5.2 so you can see it there. As of now, I do not have wireless (intel4965a/b/g/n) and I do believe there is someone working on it. I also apparently don't have sound but I have one of those HP docks and the speakers I have attached to the dock work right out of the box. So I think I have sound through USB (make sense?) but never figured out why it doesn't work off the dock. Since I don't have wireless, I pretty much only use OSX86 at my desk on the dock (wired ethernet and sound). Also, integrated webcam doesn't work. But I rarely use it. I think there are a few threads on that as well. I'd love to talk more and compare notes if anyone else has gotten it running. Again check the wiki for more of my details.EASY BCD. Very easy to use and get OSX or Vista to boot up at startup.
