Kernel Panic after install. Any advice?

I am trying to install OSX86 on a new system using the Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1 install. If I run the installation with GUID, the machine crashes when there are "3 minutes" left on the installation. The reboot then complains that a file is missing /com.apple.plist (or something like that.) If we partition the drive with an MBR and install with the MBR EFI bootloader, the installation completes. However, we get a kernel panic as the machine boots.

The hardware is:

ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe

Core2Duo Quad 6600

2GB Corsair RAM

XFX Geforce 8800GT 512Meg

150GB 10,000RPM SATA Western Digital Raptor

Liteon DVD-ROM (Sata)

The bios settings are copied from

Tagged in the customizing section are:

Both Vanilla Kernel options

NVInject_gfnvidia_desktop

HDA_ALC882 (p5w_dh)

Network Drivers - Realtek_wifi_1.4.5_UI

Bootloaders - either GUID or MBR depending on how drive is partitioned.

Any ideas?
