real_sinjon
I've tried searching but can't find any posts on this. Is there any way to get my audio device data to show up in System Profiler. Is this just a device/vendor id thing? If so can someone tell me what kexts I need to edit please? Thanks
verendus
That is normal. If that bothers you, you can actually edit the strings in the system profiler. System/Library/SystemProfiler/SPAudioReporter.spreporter/Contents/Resorces/English.Iproj. Then open localizable.strings and edit the text within the quotations "no information found". You can edit any info within System Profiler that way. Good luck.
real_sinjon
Thanks for the suggestion. I can see that this method would enable me to edit the text string to whatever I want, but it doesn't explain why the audio devices aren't detected and whether there is a way of overcoming this. I see from examining the same file on both my PowerBook and my Hack that the file is identical, which I also find strange given that the devices must be different. You're right, it's not such a big deal, but it's like anything else with this hobby, you like to know the reasons why some things don't do what you expect and whether they can be fixed. Does anyone else know how to get the actual audio devices to report in System Profiler? All other devices report ok so surely this must be possible?
