Okey, I would like to get Mac OsX to my pc.

Hardware of my PC:

Motherboard: Asus P5V-VM SE DH

Processor: Intel C2D E6420

Graphics: Sapphire HD2600XT

Memory: Kingston 2x1024mb DDR2 667mHz

DVD-drive: Samsung Sata drive

So which version would probably work in my computer?

There are so many different versions moving right now so if you could give me a specific name it would be lot easier to download the right one.

Thanks!

Hello!

I have now tried:

iATKOS _v1.0ir2.iso (2,44GB),

Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso (4.38 GB)

MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL:AMD:SSE3:SSE2).iso (4.38 GB)

And I dont get any of those to work. It seems according to that Apple "diagnostics, I mean that -v at the beginning of installation" that there is something wrong with my USB-system.

I get a error message like this after a while downloading some JMicron thing and stuff when I have pressed -v the beginning of the installation:

JMicronATA: JMB363 (CMD 0xcc00, CTR 0xc800, IRQ 28, BM 0xbc00)

USBF: AppleUSBUCHI: cotroller reset failed

USBF: AppleUSBUCHI: cotroller reset failed

Still waiting for root device

This "Still waiting for root device" keeps repeating itself and installation doesnt move on.

So whats wrong? Is there anything I could do?

it's not a usb problem (I think, correct me if im wrong), I believe that there is a problem with the driver for your ata/sata controller(the one that your boot drive is on)(either the driver isnt functioning properly or isnt there at all)

I'm no expert either....

I've tried the following installers: iATKOS v1.0i , Kalyway DVD 10.4.10 IntelSSE3 , KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3 , leopard-x86flat-image, BrazilMac_PatchedDVD Leopard GM 9a581 , macdotnub_OSx86_10.4.10 , ToH_x86_9A581_RC2 , JaS.10.4.8.SSE3.Intel.Only, and finally tub_Osx10410_AMDVM_SSE3 (which i never did install since i got 10.5.1 kalyway working)

I have read many posts with people successfully installing most of these or at the least using them to install and then installing over them with a newer release to preserve some of the kext's they wanted for video or sound etc.

iATKOS and Brazilmac and JAS seem to be very popular as well as kalyway

I can only speak from own experience, bear in mind that i installed onto a PATA drive to avoid the jmicron controller headaches right now. kalyway 10.5.1 worked best for me....

Everything is so hardware specific, but to avoid the chance of messing with my xp installation on my SATA's RAID0 config, i chose to install it onto a separate physical disk. I've read that the jmicron so far has issues with some for writing, can read tho, so then what good is it for me. its not right now. the PATA install seems fine and fast. snappy. tho i have nothing to compare it to since i have not installed it onto an SATA drive

Personally i would probably scour the boards for others that use the same motherboard as me and then see what they did, and then its trial and error from there. unless your one of the lucky few who has everything working out of the box and didn't have to do any post installs :D

So you would advice me to try install to a pata drive?

Ok. I was now able to get IDE hard drive into my hands. I unpluged sata hard drive and try to install. Now my installation stops here:

JMicronATA: JMB363 (CMD 0xc400, CTR 0xc000, IRQ 28, BM 0xbc08)

Still waiting for a root device

Do you know what to do now? Is the problem in my sata dvd-drive or where? Should I get somewhere IDE dvd-drive and try with that?
