powerdoc
I have a legit copy of Leopard and I want to install it. What I need is a basic discussion of the steps that need to be taken to get from Mac disk to PC such as what basically the patches do, what makes the PC able to read a Mac disk, and where the driver problems can occur. I've looked at a couple of PC/MAC forums and unless it's really well-hidden I haven't found such a discussion. I'd feel more at ease doing the installation if I understood what the ingredients do not just mixing them together like a receipe. References to prior articles greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Megamixman
Read the whole Tutorials forum and the OSX86 forum. No one is going to sit down and teach you what everything does. The best way to learn is to read and i mean READ A LOT. I read the whole tutorials forum on here and osx86scene, along with at least 5-6 pages of posts from the major osx86 related sub forums. That is installing, post installation, hardware, drivers, X-labs,etc. It is also good to understand linux or unix. The 2nd step is to dive in and install it. You won't be able to learn everything from articles. The best way is to take a risk, install, and learn to fix things. You start to get an idea of how the system works and that is where all that you read starts to mesh together. powerdoc
Thanks for the response! What I've looked for is just to get a basic knowledge of the processes of making one computer understand the OS of the other; not really looking (or want, actually) to be spoon-fed the info just give me the places to look. I've always found that if I can understand the foundations of what I'm trying to do that when things screw up (and from reading the posts they certainly seem to) that I can reason out the correct answer. I'll keep trying! thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81571-newby-desires-basic-information/#findComment-579836 Share on other sites
