I have both a Mac mini and a Hackintosh. But I sort of want out of this whole thing and I have two options to which figure this out.

Option one:

iMac G5 1GB Memory Tiger OS 250GB HDD Superdrive Airport Blutooth and its 20inch with iSight included ATI Card X800 or 1600 not sure. Price is $730 US.

Second option is:

DELL Inspiron 640m 80GB HDD DVDRW Windows Vista Home Prem. 2GB memory Blutooth Wireless N 14.1in 1440x900 GMA 950 2 Batteries one 56Whr the other 85Whr and its open box for $698 Cdn which is pretty much the same in US like $697 or $696.

The G5 is used, the dell is an openbox return.

I have found a buyer for both my PC of course and my sister wants my mini, what is a better choice. I want to go minimal only one thing on my desk i'm done with cables.

Well to tell you the truth I like both OSes. I don't feel much different using the Mac then I do using the PC. To me they're both operating systems which advantages and disadvantages. I do have to say thought with the iMac I would have to purchase Parallels because I do need Windows for work. I like the price factor witht he iMac its really good that price for what it brings. But a lappy for that price is really good as well though I would install Windows XP SP2 right away as I don't like Vista very much. Tough choice.

I got my DELL 640m but I downgraded from Vista Home Premium because I hate it, and besides the time it takes to load and all of that, the Wireless N seems to have problems catching a connection. On Windows XP the system boots fast and is very stable. I have Media Direct that I didn't care for but after using it I really really like it. I tried OSx86 but I cannot get Leopard to boot. Funny thing though the screen resolution is 1440x900 WXGA glossy screen and that was the exact resolution during the Leopard install. This means that the 945GM will work out of the box but unfortunatly I can't boot up. I have tried with the Osx86 bootloader and the pc_efi. I faintly see the Apple logo right before it boots. I will try another HDD cause I know that DELL is very proprietary with their componets. Either way I am really enjoying this little notebook.

Update: Great notebook in a non-quiet environment because the whinning related to the Pzio*** whatever phenomena can really annoy the hell out you. Once again for DELL close but no cigar.

There is this place about 15min from where I live in Vancouver called The Mac Market, they sell some cool stuff. The have a G5 Tower 1.6Ghz with 17inch first generation Apple Display for $899.99. But in the states CGN has some good deals. CGN also goes by ApplePalace.
