tona
I have an Abit motherboard SG-80 with a 3.0 GIG pentium 4 chip on it, and a 1 GIG centon DDR400 PC3200 memory chip on it. What do I need to do, or how do I configure it to be able to install the macosx 10.4.3 with the Jas patch 4.2b DVD. Whenever I tried install it, the sceen freezes on the grayish loading logo page and shows me an icon like that of the stop sign with a circle and a bar across. Can this be done? Please help!!! SATA controller, raid controller, legacy usb, floppy controller, on board lan, on board audio any of those may cause an issue. My asus board would hang if SATA was enabled. Seems like I'm still having the same problem. Should I buy a different mothetboard? Hagar
The "textbook" answer to "waiting for root device" is to have your harddrive on primary PATA jumpered as master, the dvd drive on primary PATA jumpered as slave, & secondary PATA & any SATA disabled.. Your board has a SiS chipset, from what I google, so your chances are smaller than if it were an Intel, Via or Nvidia chipset.. If you do decide to get a new motherboard, your best chance is one with an Intel chipset. in case that helps at all..
