Heres a simple run down of my situation.

Bought a ASUS g2s-x1 gamer laptop from Best Buy in November 07, 1 week later I flew to japan where i Currently Live.

Vista Divebombed on me due to a Bios Change. I rapidly switched to Ubuntu (gutsy) 7.10 Which has worked Great other than, Diffuculties running Direct-x windows Specific Applications. ( unfortunately my buisness related work Requires Mac or Win OS.) I would love to give this a go.

Now that you wonderful folks have got the Mac OS running on the x86 platform. I am willing to be the lab Monkey on this machine.

Being that Os X is based off of BSD unix.

I am currntly running a Grub Boot with Unbuntu (linux).

Will the Kaloway Leopard readily install to my linux machine or was this setup for installation via a windows installation.

Cheers!

I'll be honest, I haven't broken a serious sweat, but a quick search left me hanging as to what the ASUS g2s-x1 's specs are. I found out that it's a 17" WS laptop with an 8600 Go GT 256. If I recall correctly, there's some sort of patched kext out now for getting the 8600 series working. Other than that, I can't really tell you anything for sure.

CPU and chipset data would probably help. Also WiFi and ethernet models as well. <-- Obviously C2D processors will work in one way or another (worst case scenario seems to involve having to boot with a "cpus=1" flag.) The chipset could create some problems, depending on what they have in there. No idea what goes into a gamers model. Ethernet and WiFi are consistent problems for OSX86 users, so you should probably look into that with a forum search.

I personally haven't installed the Kalyway DVD, but as I understand it, it's a more highly patched version of previous tries, which also includes the Kalyway "Make Leopard HD Bootable" patch. Theoretically, you should be able to install it on a clean machine.

Again, I can't be more certain without any idea what the laptop's specs are, but, really, a few searches based on them should clear up most of your worries. (Or convince you it's not worth the trouble, in any case. :P)
