FrederikNS
Hello everyone, I'm experiencing a bit of trouble with the Kalyway 10.5.1 disc... When I boot up from it it get presented with the usual "press any key to install or F8...", if i let the installer start normally i get to an apple with the rotating thingy beneath, but after a while it encounters the "You need to reboot your computer" thing. If I then try to boot the cd with the "-v" parameter I come to a point where I get a kernel panic, which I guess is the reason I encounter the previously mentioned screen if I omit the "-v" When I try "-v -x" the installer gets further, and after a long while I reach an entirely black screen, the disc activity ceases, and nothing happens from then on (I have left it like that for about half an hour. After a while the monitor backlight dims, as if to save power, and comes back on if i push any button). The first time I hit a button when I have reached this black screen, there is a short while of disc activity, as if the computer checks the disc to see if it should do anything, but nothing happens afterwards. I get the same result if I use the "-v -s -f" parameters, and the "vanilla" doesn't seem to affect anything at all. The machine I try to install on is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E-04J019N5 with the following specs: Processor: Intel T5500 1.66 GHz Ram: 2 identical modules, at 512 MB each (I got a hold of another of the exact same block the computer were supplied with) Graphics: Intel 945GME Networking: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Audio: Realtek (not sure which) I suspect that the problem might be something to do with the graphics, My guess is that it actually reached the installation, but isn't able to show anything but the black screen, due to the fact that the backlighting dims after a while, and comes back on if I push a button, and the disc has a short burst of activity when I push a button. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. FrederikNS
