Sarif_One
Couldn't find a post on this so if anyone has had this problem/has any ideas about solutions let me know. First off, system specs. Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Motherboard: EVGA nForce 650i Graphics: BFG Tech nVidia GeForce 8600 GT OC Memory: 4 gig DDR2 ram (Two 1g chips, One 2g) OSx86 Installer: iATkOS v1.0ir2 BIOS Settings changed: Limit CPUID MaxVal - Enabled (This sets the limit to 3) CPU Core 1 - Disabled I'm installing OSX to a 75g IDE hard drive. Here's the rundown: Had an infinite reboot issue with v1.0 so I patched to r2 (checksums on both worked out to be correct) With *this* DVD Darwin loads up and the installation begins. Got to disk utilities, formatted the volume HFS+ journaled, began install to that drive. After that installation bar reached 100%, another installation bar popped up and hung about 5% in. After maybe half an hour a screen popped up saying the following: "Installation Failed Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer The installer could not validate the contents of the '10.5.1 Intel' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. Click Restart to restart your computer and try installing again." This is followed of course by a restart button. Sarif_One
Yeah, utilities worked just fine for me. Drive formatting went accordingly. It even installed all the way to 100%, but then it gave me *another* status bar that hung at 5% or so. This is where the installation failed. Really wish I could figure out why. I'm going to make another attempt in verbose mode. alochet
I found the solution guys. I got fed up with this version because of this issue, it would not install. I got the other version KALYWAY 10.5.1 DVD release and decided to see if this one would work. When I burned the DVD I selected a LOWER speed this time, one step below the maximum burning speed. (I used magicISO) As it was installing, it got stuck at 3% again, it would not read the dvdrw drive, there was no activity. Then I pressed ENTER button and the drive started spinning and was installing perfectly! So you guys should try to burn it at a lower speed AND press enter when it gets stuck at installing. I actually tried pressing enter without lowering my burn speed, it still gave me an error, so im sure you gotta do both. It that doesnt work then you have to get KALYWAY and do the steps above for it to work. *Update* iATkOS does not work for me even with the steps I did above, only kalway's works for me.
