alpha2zulu00
Okay, I have a nicely working Leopard 10.5.1 install, and didn't notice this until last night, when a friend complained on AIM (Adium) about me signing of and on all the time. Apparently, when I close the lid of my laptop, the internet connection stops. I do believe my wi-fi stays on, though. Also, the connection quickly comes back when I open it. I have an HP laptop, with a Broadcom 4318. Can anyone help me out, please?
rollcage
Something like InsomniaX should probably do the job. Leopard support is a bit shaky right now though, so if it gives you trouble the site says to: Download latest beta build available in last postDelete ~/Library/Application Support/InsomniaX Run this command in terminal : defaults delete com.semaja2.InsomniaX This app only works when you're logged in, if you want it to work as soon as the system starts up (at the login screen), see this post. Not sure if that still works though, the workaround was originally for Tiger. You'll also want to keep an eye on your computer's temperature, especially if the lid is blocking vents. If you system goes above 50 C, you could risk damaging your screen.
alpha2zulu00
Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a try. EDIT: Actually, that didn't work. :censored2:
alpha2zulu00
Aha, setting my Energy Saver settings to Better Performance turns this off. Yay!
