I've been trying to install kalyway 10.5.1 but i keep getting an error message. do i need a different version of osx? if so which one? will i need to do anything to it? the same one as here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=79307 I have a gateway m-6817 here are my specifications except i had to replace the hard drive so its not a 250 gb, its only 111gb. Which it is a sata drive. michrech Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 If you are getting the same error as in the post you linked to, you need to skip the disk check. The check will not succeed because the disk is missing several things (fonts, printer drivers, X11, etc) to make it fit onto a 4.7gb single layer DVD. Bedok Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 Try to do only 1 partition on your HD for now, you can always resized/repartition for other os later. Look for dual boot if you are interested. Looking at the problem page, it said that the problem (from previous post) in writing to /Volumes/Shared folder, wth? was that your problem?
