Numberzz
Well what do you think? Real or fake. The one on the left is supposed to be a 15" MacBook Pro and the one on the right is the supposed sub-notebook. The large trackpad doesn't look that good to me, but it's supposed to have some multi-touch interface thing. Always eject before disconnecting. Full Story Kinda stole you article, rathalos EDIT: To the doubters: that's why that is a question and not a statement
THiRD
Fake. The thin-ness of the notebook is awfully sexy but yeah that long trackpad is heinous.

Mebster
If this is real then the I can see the large trackpad really annoying me as the curser moves all over the screen while I type. NumberzzEdit:
apowerr
I doubt that that is it.
rollcage
Agreed, the trackpad is kinda weird. But if it is actually real and does have multitouch, I bet that's where you'll be using it. Maybe soon we'll be "pinching" our trackpads to zoom (could work on existing trackpads with a system update?). The multitouch thing makes me wonder if we'll be seeing notebooks with virtual keyboards soon (something like the Optimus Tactus?) And for those of you that don't like the idea of a virtual keyboard with no tactile feedback, I think I read somwhere that Apple has a patent for such a situation. Just imagine having quicklook on your keyboard.
GBK.Xscape
That cannot be it for one simple reason, the mouse button is waaaay to long and stretches almost all the way across the top of the laptop leaving no room to rest your palms on. With no place to rest your palms it would not be ergonomic at all.

eLMafUDd
Numberzz likes his edits. This looks fake to me, still seems to large for an ultra portable. Would compete too much with their macbooks.

ayeying
The laptop looks nice... but the trackpad look UGLY.. sorry, even if it is multitouch featured.. at least make it smaller so I can have my palm rest on actual palm rests.
Dylan-AKA-Hit
You know, if you take a good look, both have exactly the same files(Just placed a bit down) And exactly the same dock, in other word, it's edited from the one next to it It looks really nice, but i don't beleave it
johan
Looks real to me, the touchpad looks just like the apple patent.
olofd
This is fake. Or how do you explain this: The photo is taken in Sweden. Look at the book in the background. It's "Angles and Deamons" by Dan Brown. In Swedish that is: Änglar och Demoner Just like on the book. So tell me: Would a Pre-copy leave California to go to Sweden just like that!? Don't think so. //Olofd
niko
it's a fake. you can see that the the desktop on the screen is just the same like on the MBP, just 2 icons moved to the bottom. Also, the screen resolution wouldn't be that high...
Synaesthesia
That huge long trackpad and STILL only one button!
bartron
Eh??? same desktop? Firstly the dock - Check out the two purplish icons to the right then count the number of icons to the right of those (presumably in the minimised window area)....different. Besides, if this were a pre-production model it would be perfectly conceivable that they would be installed with a common base OS image. Desktop icons/wallpaper - see above. The keyboard looks to be about the same size as the one on the 15" but with no speakers to the side. Taking this into account the trackpad looks to be about twice the width of the current trackpad. I think it looks huge becasue we're used to seeing it on a 15" MacBook Pro but probably isn't all that big in reality. Sans optical drive and hard drive (these things are supposed to run on flash drives, yes?) the thin-ness of the laptop is also perfectly in the realm of posibility. My view....not fake, however being pre-production it could well be not the final design. I imagine the keyboard will go the way of the MacBook and Al iMac keyboard as it seems that's the direction Apple are taking.
mactist
FAKE!!!!, a long button for a trackpad that is multitouch. It won't need any button first of all
borisbadenov
I am not commenting on whether the pic is real or not, however, just because the book is in swedish, it does not mean the photo was taken in sweden, the book might be the import. This is fake. Or how do you explain this: The photo is taken in Sweden. Look at the book in the background. It's "Angles and Deamons" by Dan Brown. (MoC)
I don't think so. Apple's design team must have been on weed or some other narcotic to make such a long trackpad. Also, look carefully at those small details mentioned before........
