MagnaTurban
So i got the disc from my friend, prepatched and everything. I got the installation screen and i installed it. Problem is, when my computer restarted, it went straight to the same screen. Nothing changed, it thinks i haven't installed it yet or something. What do i do from here? How do I get it to start up? Reveeen
There are some pretty good guides here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...allation_Guides Now, what everyone assumes, but no one tells you (because we *must* keep this shrouded in secrecy and black magic) is that unlike Windoze that creates it's own MBR (master boot record) this stuff doesn't (as to the why I don't have a clue), so when you are preparing your hardrive in the hardrive utility, after erasing and formatting to "Mac OS extended (Journaled)" you select the "partition" option at the top, a screen opens with your partition displayed, you choose "options", button at the center under the partition display, a window pops up, select "Master Boot Record", then "OK", and select "partition" before closing that screen to go on with your install. You do your install........... Get to the re-start re-start Snatch the DVD out of the drive before your system re-boots And you should be good to go. 1 week, it took me one week to think about what was going wrong here, and figure this out. Hope it helps. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/78913-keep-on-getting-the-install-screen-with-osx-1046/#findComment-559449 Share on other sites
