diskutil not detecting the HDDs?

hi! i hv download mac leopard named "ToH_x86_9A581_RC2.iso" i burn the dvd using nero in windows as it is my first installation of mac os x.when i boot from it, it shows some failed messages. BUT after all it gives a picture showing MAC LEOPARD BROUGHT BY TOH.....blah blah.

then i open the disk utility BUT there is no HDD deteced even i hv connected two HDD of 80 GB each one is SATA and other one is PATA. it only show the dvd drive with the dvd init i.e., TOh x86 leo......

after that tried out dissconnecting the HDD one by one and checked using the both HDD one by one BUT it does not detect any hdd. i'm totally newbie in this so plz solve my problem. is there something with my downloaded dvd???? or some other problem?? PLZ help me it very urgent...

Here is the My config:

Pentium 4 2.66GHz

Intel D101GGC mobo (ATI XPRESS 200 SERIES integreted graphics)

512 MB DDR 400 MHz RAM

80 GB SATA-80 GB PATA (HITACHI) HDD

 

thnx in advance plz must help me i'm totally stuck with detecting hdd...

You need to check if you have a Ati controler for the hdd, something like SB400 (CPU-Z in windoze). If you do, chances are there is not much support for it with Leopard distros.

The only distro that i know support theese controlers are Uphuck 1.4i series. The other solution is to manualy integrate the devid for your controler in AppleViaAta from extensions.mkext and also add a package with this controler to instalation. On this you should do a little search (e.g. extensions.mkext , the devid of the controler). Good Luck!
