qwertqwert3
On my thinkpad your supposed to be able to hold down the middle button and move the mouse nipple up and down and it should act like a scroll wheel. Other people have said that it works out of the box, but on mine it doesn't? Jas 10.4.8.
qwertqwert3
I know lots of pepole have thinkpads, and half the reason is this little red trackpoint.. Noone found a fix, or mac software that uses that button (which is apparently registered by the os as SOMETHING) to be interpretted as a scroll? qwertqwert3
Everyone, I pretty much found a solution! Here's how to get even better scrolling on a thinkpad/dell with the trackpoint in mac osx86!!!Download the software smart scroll x for mac.turn on grab scrolling, reverse x and y directions, check the option to NOT MOVE MOUSE WHEN SCROLLING.tweak how you want your trackpoint to "throw" the web pages like on the iphone!DONATE TO THIS AWESOME PERSON WHO GAVE US THIS PRETTY MUCH UNLIMITED TRIAL SOFTWARE!:)Now i just can't get this to work in firefox, so let me know if you can.. (also can't get it to work in finder) Oh well, I never liked finder very much anyways.. Will download a finder replacement soon ..Also, there is some software out there somewhere, someone please give a link, where you can give a window in the background focus, just by placing your mouse over it. This would enable us to scroll windows that are in the background, as is the default behavior in windows/linux with mouse wheels.
