Dear all,

 

i have also an Acer 5220, and iaktos installed but when the system is booting it show me one symbol overhead the apple logo like :

Can you help me whats the problem ?

thats a intel celeron with 1,83 GHZ i now.

I try to install JaS 10.5.4 in a 5220 intel celeron core duo T1400 and the install and boot fine but after i try to install apps the system freezes.

One of the installs, all the icons of the finder gets the same gray icon...

I got that icon too with Iatkos 4i but after selecting the SATA drivers my HD get recognized ok.

Maybe be give that a try?

Hi, I got an Acer 5220 now, too. Installed the newest Kalyway Image, but my wlan-adapter doesn't work! I can't see it under network ^_^

Does someone got the same problem and could help me?

I search all the web but didn't find an answer.

i have one question:

are the fans working properly under Leopard with the Acer Axtensa 5220?

At the time i have an Lenovo N200 and i am trying to get the fan probs fixed, but after 3 weeks of work

i think its not poosible with this Laptop. So i am thinking about buying an Acer if it doesnt have this problem!

Are you using Vanilla Kernel?

Acer Extensa Laptop Dual-Core Processor T3200 EX4620-4658. It has the same chipset as 5520. (GL690) Check specs of EX4620 here

 

Compare it to the specs of 5520 that I found here They look like they both use the same chipset...so I am thinking they should both be just as compatible. Please let me know if anyone out there has been able to make the ex4620 work. I bought one from best buy and have yet to pick it up. Thanks.

Hello everyone who love apple!!! This is great idea have Mac os X on Acer 5220. I have the same note book and still teaching this tipic 1st and then going to change my operation sistem from XP to OS X. Please anybody show scrennshots how it is look like OS X on Acer 5220.

hello. I'm a hackintosh entusiast from 2 months. I have an acer extensa 5220, celeron 1.73, 1.5g ram, 80 g hdd, intel x3100. :rolleyes:

i tried several distros: fisrst leo4all 10.5.3, then kalyway 10.5.2 who was better. i tried to improve my system, so i installed kalyway 10.5.3 combo, next 1.5.4 update from apple. looking good, faster response. and i installed 10.5.5 update. rezult: dead :wacko: .

so, i looked for a 10.5.5 original distro.so..in this moment, i have xxx x86 10.5.5 distro+ 10.5.5 update from apple+vanilla 9.5.0 kernel. works like a charm. so wat's working:

;) wireless

;) ethernet: 5787 kext modified by me for MAC adress

;) sound, input, outpout, microphone, using alc268 package an apple hda enabler

;) x3100 vga, with kext from 10.5.5, hardware acceleration, qe/ci activated

;) battery meter, working

:blink: card reader it's recognized in boot sequence and in hardware config, but not seeing the sony ms pro card from phone

:blink: sleep function..it;s not right

So it seems, that the steps are the following ones:

 

1. install PC_EFI_V9

2. install DSDT Patcher

3. install AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext from 10.5.5 combo update,

4. install IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext to /Extra/Extensions folderDisabler.kext in order to not get kernel panics

5. install Apple 10.5.6 Update

Hi to all.

I buy today the acer extensa 5220.

Centrino 2,1MHZ Intel 560.

2 Gb Ram

Intel X3100 Graphic.

 

 

I installed for now, kalyway 10.5.2

I can't check if it's all right.

I'll check to night.

 

 

But I have a question...Sorry if it's a stupid question.

 

Anyone have try to install with Retail boot -132 and Chameleon??

Because I tryed 2 time but after write in Darwin menu, -v and press Enter, the DVD load stop in Load "driver" graphic card.

Anyone to be more luck??

Ok.

I checked.

 

After install Kalyway 10.5.2:

 

X3100 is ok but without QE. Screen resolution is 1280*800

Sound For the moment I can't test...Sorry :)

Lan and WLAN don't work.

 

Today I test audio and LAN. with many files find in insanelymac.

 

At the same Time I download Iatkos 10.5.5 for try next days.

 

I have 3 same notebook, I must run Leo and LAN and WLAN and Sound... XD

 

If you have suggest write to me.

second, the lan ( broadcom 5787 with MAC adress:0000c553b241) there are instructions to modify that.

third...for the qe//ci enabled, use osx86 tools. google for that :P

about 10.5.6..if anyone tells me that in xbench resulting a higher score that 10.5.5, i install him.if no..it;s a failure, like 10.5.5, who gave me half the points of 10.5.4. i regret that..but i don't have time to downgrade now.

Yesterday night I solve audio and maybe LAN...I can't try LAN, because in my home Internet is Down from 02 December 2008.

Italian internet is Sheet.

Today 18 December 2008 my home Internet is still K.O.

 

Whatever Now I try your solution for everiting.

 

I thinked at osx86tool but I haven't time to download it ...

 

Ahhhh...the work.

Quart Extreme ( sorry I write bad ) is still disable. Quartz GL is enable with OSX86tool.

 

Lan's MAC address is : ba:ad:f0:0d:ba:ad

 

another notebook

Lan's MAC address is: 00:1d:72:ff:ff:31:aa:f9

Good Morning.

Hi to all.

 

Yesterday night, I do a fresh install of Kalyway 10.5.2.

 

I upgrade to 10.5.3->10.5.4->10.5.5

 

After the upgrade to 10.5.3 The Quart Extreme is On.

 

After 10.5.5 I install ALC286 with installer and HFA V3. Audio is ok, but at every restart there isn't the icon speaker.

 

After I install the LAN... Lan is ok, but WLAN don't WORK.

I need the WLAN XD

 

After I try to install the PowerManagement Bundle, for the battery icon. But don't work.

 

 

This morning I have the Iatkos v5 10.5.5

I try a fresh install in another Extensa 5220.

 

I repeat, I have 3 extensa 5220. a cople for my friend.

 

If you have WLAN work, can you tell me how?

i don't have problems with battery icon.just install ACPIBattery.kext and the problem should be resolved. volume icon...mine it's in her place...

i have broadcom wlan.it was recognized everytime automatically, without any suplimentary kext.but..i know that somewhere in the forum.

for any of you with extensa 5220, broadcom wlan and lan, etc.i have full backup of extensions 10.5.5. you need'it, find a method and i will send you.then restore with osx86 tools, and you have working almost everything on.

I have the Extensa 5220 1gb RAM and with Celeron 540 1.86Ghz processor. I just want to share my latest experience with you. I got logic pro 8.02 running on my Acer Extensa 5220. Also, i can play virtual instruments without noticable latency through my cheapo ebay midi interface connected between my keyboard and USB on the computer. Earlier when tried to play with softsynths and windows xp i had great latency issues with the internal soundboard. Asio4all drivers helps but were kind of unstable. Later I will try to stress my system with different softsynths, effects just to see how it performs in the end. OS X is great, latency is just for windoze! ;)

 

Have you had any experience with logic studio/pro? Please tell me!

I have install iatkos 10.5.5 and i have battery and speaker. But wlan in system preferences->network is disconnect every time. Fw0.

If i try to click connect, nothing happen.

fw0 it;s fireware.i attach here kexts for wlan from me.maybe will work...somebody with 10.5.6 can telllme if the score in xbench it's better?
