carlc80301
On my AOpen Mini PC (same size as Mac Mini) model MP945X with 2.166 Intel Core Duo, 120 GB Sata HD, 1GB Memory and using Intel 945 Chipset including integrated Video the Computer will only boot if the ISO Image DVD is inserted in the DVD Drive. Without the DVD inserted I only get a blinking cursor. No indication that the Boot Loader has loaded. When the DVD is inserted I can see the text for the Darwin Boot Loader and it gives me a choice of installing or just booting. Without the DVD inserted it appears not to load the Darwin Boot loader from the HD. Is there some place I may procure the Darwin Boot loader and install it once I have Atkos loaded? Is this a viable option or should I look at other means? I have looked on the Net for Darwin Boot loader but no luck. I could only locate the source code which would be useless to me. Once it is booted most everthing that I've checked seems to work OK. Network, Printer and USB works OK. It appears to be quite slow though in comparison to my Mac Mini which is running a 2 GHZ Core 2 Duo. With Windows XP (Boot Camp) on the MAC and Windows Xp on the AOpen Mini the speed is about the same between the two machines. However with iAtKos_v1.0 on the AOpen it is much slower than the MAC. (xBench Test). I think the CPU is operating in its slowest mode but I don't know how to speed it up. In the installation of iAtkos there is a read me note talking about a Speed Step Package in the Drivers Section and also mention of a Throttling Feature with mention of PRASY KEXT and TUXX'S SPEEDSTEPING APPLICATION. I have searched and can find nothing about any of these mentioned features. In any case I really don't understand what they are talking about. I should mention that I've only been using OS X for a few months but I've grown to really love it even though I still don't know that much about the inner workings of it. But it is so reliable and generally easier to use and that is why I would like to run OS X on my PCs. If anyone can help me I would certainly appreciate it. dmaxo
Hey dude, Just wondering how did you get yours to install on your Aopen MP945? I tried to install the iATKOS_v1.0i on my MP945 which is similar spec (slower CPU, smaller HDD) to yours, but I cant seem to be able to make it recognise my HDD though. Mine is a SATA hdd as well but it shows up in the BIOS as a SCSI. Any help is appreciated.
