I need someones opinion

This probably isn't the proper section, but I couldn't decide where to put it.

I have a PowerMac G4 (the blue kind, not the quicksilver) with a 450mhz PPC, 1gb of ram, 40gb harddrive,OSX 10.4.11, and an nVidia Gforce FX5700 video card and I put a sony dvd-rw DRU-710A drive in it (also including the original drive for reinstallation uses) - How much do you think I could sell this for?

I see them on ebay going from $20-200+, but none of them have an nVidia card, so I didn't know how much that added to the value.

Anyway, if anyone has an opinion, please post. Also - If anyone is interested at all, PM me.

The idea of using Sonnet is very interesting. I also have an older blue G4. I have thought about updating the CPU with Sonnet but here is my take on it. I would rather sell the G4 on eBay (put it out as a minimum bid, maybe for $100 and see how it goes). Then take whatever money you have made and invest in a hackintosh. Splash out on a Core 2 Duo and enjoy the benefits of the new pc-efi patch and not have to fear updates. And if you do not get really anything for the g4 (like the $20 you mentioned) then I would geta small mobo and mod the G4 case with your new rig.

You won't get much for it. In April I sold a Dual 450MHz G4 with Radeon 8500 video card, two 80GB drives in a RAID 1 setup, 2GB of RAM, a DVD burner, and a full version of Mac OS X Server 10.3.9, with all CDs and boxes for a grand total of $280. I don't think the NVidia card will increase the value much.

Thanks for your responses, I may do what the poster above mentioned and mod my case..that doesn't sound like a bad idea, I never really thought of it. BUT - I'll probably only do that if a guy I know doesn't buy it. I think I've swindled him into paying $200 for it, have to wait until after christmas for him to decide if he really wants it because he's a senior in high school with no job and $80 to his name. I think it's looking up though :euro: . What I really want to do is sell this and some other things I have and buy a brand new mac mini. I'd like an iMac, but I can do without. The hardware, aside from the graphics processor, is nearly identical. Either that, or try and find a decently priced iMac g4 with a 1.25ghz PPC and at least 80gigs in it...I like that model iMac.
