Here is how I setup my laptop: disk0s1 - Vista disk0s2 - Grub disk0s3 - OS X disk0s4 - documents/save partition By default, the laptop boots on grub. And I can choose between Vista and OS X. No problems for booting Vista. If I choose OS X, I get Darwin boot menu with the countdown. But by default the choice is set on grub. So if I don't choose it goes back to grub and so on...
