Vires Posted November 14, 2007 Share Posted November 14, 2007 Hey I have an Acer laptop (Aspire 5100-5300), and am using the JAS installer. Whenever I get to the installation part it won't detect any drive, same for Disk Utility. I formatted my drive using GParted in Ubuntu as FAT32. I have searched the forums but no one has a clear cut answer (other than it may be impossible to install with a SATA drive). If someone would help me out it would be appreciated. Shrimp Posted November 14, 2007 Share Posted November 14, 2007 I had the same issue for the longest period of time. It's either the type of harddrive you're laptop has or the motherboard. Either way JaS didn't work for me however uphuck did detect my harddrive. I say give uphuck a try and see how it goes.
