z03
This is my first post, so be generous. Ive tried everyting, no luck booting with TOH Rc2, and also Brazilmac's CD. When I boot the DVD i get an error saying "Unable to find driver for this platform ACPI". Otherwise the Flatimage method runs fine, but i will do an fresh install to my sata-disk. I tried with disable/enable everything in bios, still no luck. I also tried the boot-options (-v-f-x-legacy...) How can i integrate different kexts into TOH-DVD? For example does it make sense to integrate the kexts that are loaded from my flatimage-install im running right now? One other idea: Downgrading to previous Bios (F5/F4)? Has anyone a better solution? z03
Hey Jonyb7, thanks for your reply, -weird we have the same mobo. just to make sure: you mean the yellow sata ports(intel) correct? Is your mobo also Revision 1.0? I ve attached some pics of my setup, can you have look in your bios-setup and compare? I ve also tried different DVD-Drives (USB, IDE, ...) still no go. thx, zo3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/71077-gigabyte-p35-ds3-leo-dvds-are-booting-with-acpi-error/#findComment-505043 Share on other sites

z03
thx again. My setup matches exactly, maybe my DVD is a coaster. If i find the time will try the EFI-Method... z03 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/71077-gigabyte-p35-ds3-leo-dvds-are-booting-with-acpi-error/#findComment-506084 Share on other sites

Taz Devil
I have the same board, GA-P35-DS3R, I have tried the HDD on SATA0 in native mode with AHCI, and the CD-ROM is on the IDE channel. I seem to have issues with either ToH for flat image creation. My config is as follows; New PC: MB: GA-P35-DS3R Ram: 4GB Kingston DDR2-800 CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad (Q6600) Video: Nvidia 8600 GTS (PCI-E) HDD for Hackintosh install 500GB WD Sata Single Drive. Current Tiger Install (10.4.10) HP Compaq: DC9600 SFF CPU: Pentium D 820 (Dual Core) Ram: 2GB HDD: 320 - Tiger, another 320 for Leopard (both SATA) Whenn I try to install either Toh DVD or Flat Image (Leopard) with a seperate disk Seagate 320 Sata, I also run into issues. I get your Mac needs to be turned off and restarted, please hold down the power button. Any sugguestions would be appreciated. andytof47
Taz Devil - I'm no expert at all but I read your specs and remembered that some people are having problems with more than 2gb of RAM??? might be helpful I don't know Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/71077-gigabyte-p35-ds3-leo-dvds-are-booting-with-acpi-error/#findComment-517593 Share on other sites
z03
ok, i copied my flatimage from xp to an ide-drive, then cloned this with acronis to my sata-drive. It boots with ahci (on) an Native (on). I dont now but i think the board has some AHCI/ICH9 problems. for example i cannot install/run vista in AHCI-Mode, but anyway th flatimage method worked so at least i have a working system. BTW, i can only see drives connected to the first two yellow sata ports (intel). Has anyone managed to get those other ports going? z03 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/71077-gigabyte-p35-ds3-leo-dvds-are-booting-with-acpi-error/#findComment-517856 Share on other sites
Huber Bertl
I have the same Mainboard and the same probs! Only the first two SATA 0 and 1 work! jclaude_nantes
My purple connectors are working on leopard 10.5.1!!! What did i do: Open whith a text editor the file: /system/library/extensions/AppleVIAATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist Find: <key> VIA SATA Controller </key> Some line after find: <key> IOPCIPrimaryMatch </key> The line after add the string: 2363197b (it's the id number of the GIGABYTE SATA 2 chipset) This line become: <string> 2363197b ....... </string> chmod and chown AppleVIAATA.kext as usual. In Bios fix the line: Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode [AHCI] Restart with the -f option. Now you get 4 SATA ports working. Works for me. Sorry for my poor English. Jonjon649
I've got the Gigabyte P35C-DS3R motherboard, and I can get leopard to install, as long as I use a USB CD drive. If I try to use an IDE CD then the install hangs on 'waiting for root device'. Didn't have a USB CD drive, so I made one, got a standard IDE cd drive, and a 3.5" USB external drive caddy. Took the hard drive out, put the CD drive in. Enabled Legacy USB support in the bios, reboot, press F12 to enter boot device menu, and job done. Good luck!
