Hi there.

I have this trouble "Still waiting for root device..".

I installed "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.NEW" at Vmware 6.0 on HDD partition, and it can boot at vmware without problem, but after reboot PC, a see on the scr

My system: Acer 5100 -

AMD 64 2.0 Ghz

I've had a similar problem with my osx installation once.

 

It just would not boot on battery, I think it had something to do with the kernel I selected back then - I used AMD instead of universal from the uphuck 10.4.9 1.3 dvd - so maybe you should check out a different one.

 

That's just a shot in the dark though, I've never used it with vmware either.

 

PS. I also ran it on a AMD based laptop (with SiS chipsets).

I have the same problem. Installed 10.4.6 JaS (.8 didn't work for me). Booting gets stuck at the grey apple-screen with the spinning thing. -v says "still waiting for root device", I tried everything from the FAQ (rd=disk0s1, -x etc.), but it still doesn't work. :(
