devilhood
Hi all, I have a Triple boot of XP/Vista/Mac, but the Windows OS' are installed on the ICH7R controller in RAID-0, where-as the Mac is on a normal AHCI compatible partition. Everytime I boot into the Mac, it asks to initialize the Hard disks associated with the RAID-0 setup, but I was wondering if it is possible (at boot) to hide those devices from the Mac, or allow some kind of software recognition of the RAID array. I've tried searching around the forum but I haven't been able to find any solutions to the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheerz, Pawel. NeSuKuN
Some boot loaders allow you to hide some partitions to specific OSes, further than this AFAIK there is no posibility to use ICH7r's RAID on OS X
devilhood
NeSuKuN, many thanks for the quick response. I was kinda hoping that it was possible to hide the drives via Darwin's boot loader somehow. It would be nice if Disk Utility had the ability to hide or permanently ignore a drive though. Perhaps if Apple implemented a feature such as when the Mac detects the 'uninitalized' Hard Disks, selecting Ignore would apply even after I reset the machine. Seems more like a nag-screen than a helpful prompt
