ObsidianX
Hey folks, I've been trying to get OSX86 working on my HP Pavilion 6605 (although the system claims its a 6500 and the sticker on the damn thing says its a 6000) laptop for a few days now and, of course, I've had issues with it.... First off I've got nForce hardware in here thats new enought that even a Linux 'lspci' returns unknown device on half the hardware I have, however made some progress on getting the hard drive to be discovered by the kernel by modifying the IOATAFamily.kext and adding my vendor/product ID to the AppleVIAATA.kext plugin. To even get to this point, though, I had to install the system through VMWare onto a physical partition since the installer couldn't see my hard drive. (Speaking of which if anybody knows how to modify the install cd's drivers I'd love to know so I could run the installer natively) Anyways, after I boot into it natively it finds my hard drive and mounts the partition but soon after the whole screen just goes black and the system freezes. I don't know what the error could possibly be since the whole screen goes black but if anybody has any ideas on what I could do to get this going I'd be very grateful I'm so close to OSX86 on this damn thing! ObsidianX
Alright, finally found out how to modify the installer disc with TransMac and I finally got up to the installer screen natively... but as soon as I go up to the Disk Tool it freezes when it reads from the hard drive.... ugh...
