build
Hi guys, Not a major problem. More of an annoyance. My USB optical mouse behaves like one of the old ball mice with dirt on the rollers. If I move across the screen from left to right it's not smooth, more of a intermittent grainy movement as described above. I have played with the tracking speed. To no avail. I have tried Wired and Wireless mice, both give the same effect. It's beginning to drive me nuts.
MuppMan
Do you have a ps2 keyboard or Usb keyboard connected? I got that problem when i mixed Usb with ps2 devices. Solved by using usb keyboard + usb mouse. Weird I know.....
build
No nothing else connected. I have also gone and downloaded the mac drivers for one of the mice. configured speed etc within the mac drivers settings. Still the same. It's a strange one. Everything else is running really smooth.
MuppMan
You can always try one of those usb>ps2 adapters and see if the mouse works better through the ps2 port. However as I said I had problems mixing ps2 and usb key/mouse devices.
build
I have also tried playing around with USB Overdrive, Steermouse, And also tweaked Apple > System prefs > Universal Access > Mouse "Initial delay" slider to the left and the "Maximum speed" The best I have got, is with USB Overdrive.
