chevy2410
I think you are going to be out of luck on that mobo and vid card. Cruise over to osx86 project dot org and check out the mobo specs to see what's supported. Chevy

chevy2410
do i look through torrent site for "a file", and which one do i go for JaS, uphuck? and which version?. Well, uphuck 10.4.9i r3 is the most popular at the moment. You can find it on the green demon. There is another one Kalyway 10.4.10 install dvd, but some people are having issues with, while others say it's great. Jas is very good as well, but it's only 10.4.8 and you would need to get the update to 10.4.10. With Kalyway it's already 10.4.10 and Uphuck 10.4.9. Good luck, Chevy
chevy2410
Put disc in and boot from dvd drive. It will take awhile to boot up fully. Once it does go utilities, then click disk utility and partition and format your drive. Make while in the partition tab you click the options button near the bottom and choose "MASTER BOOT RECORD" for partition scheme. Once done exit disk util and continue with the install. will final cut pro work on tis version? I don't know if it will or not. You might need an update. Just install it and see what happens. SWN_Hellzone
Ok the Evga 680i works, Make sure you have usb keyboard. Also the quadcore cpu you have works along with the 2gb of ram. Use a IDE HDD. Sata will not work. Also... the 8800 is in dev so you can expect something soon. If you have the money buy a cheep nvida 5500FX they work good. "Intel Kentsfield Q6600 @ 2.4GHz, 8MB L2 Cache"Jas 10.4.8 SSE2.SSE3 INTEL + AMD + PPF1 + Defiant + Bikerdude - 4 cores working fine.
erikas_boy
srry for the double post but 2 things....i managed to find a 20gb hardrive IDE i formatted it to NTFS, and i put the cd in and its saying still waiting for root device wht do i do? also is there a way for SATA? edit: would this work for a SATA drive http://coolblog.profit42.com/2006/12/09/vi...ot-on-intelamd/ thnks I'm a total noob at this, I'm actually waiting for my first uphuck boot on another box as I type. But I left my drive unformatted (well, I unformatted it in xp), because I remembered reading somewhere that I had to do that. Time will tell I suppose. I'd never heard you couldn't do it on SATA, but mine is IDE, so I'm not fussed. Hope it worls out!
SWN_Hellzone
No you have to use a IDE Hdd, Sata is not support ATM. A Sata Dvd Drive should work. I have a Core2 duo E6300 and a nvidia 680i and it installs without a problem, make sure to use Titain and Nv40. Theres a bit of lag if you use older video cards. Also your getting a issue with Unable to find root device... use jas with ppf1 & ppf2 "From the HCL" Hardware Name (socket type) Chipset Notes Fully working without patching 680i SLI socket 775 nForce 680i SLI Audio working via AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip (2channel out), IDE/USB/Firewire works natively; no SATA, no ethernet (will try nforce4sata; punted on et linksys LNE100TX add-in card w/tulip drivers) (Make sure to install titan or you will get screen that promotes you to reset your computer) JaS DVD 10.4.8 (SSE2/SSE3/PPF1/PPF2) (had unable to find root device issues with earlier JaS 10.4.8 release)
