zam
Hi, I was wondering, what is the status of Intel GMA 950 graphics support for 10.4.9 and 10.4.10? I have been successfully running boxes with Nvidia cards, and they work perfectly by just adding Titan or Natit to extensions. What is the deal at the moment with GMA 950? I remember that it broke somewhere around 10.4.6-10.4.8 in a way that you had to fiddle with older versions of some kexts/frameworks to make it work, which in turn made the whole system somewhat unstable (rosetta gfx acceleration didn't work or something like that...). The question is: is there a solution that makes the GMA 950 fully operational (without any partial downgrades of the system)? It would be nice to have, as many cheap boards feature this gfx chip and it's perfectly suitable for humble desktop office use. - Zam Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63140-gma-950-status-in-1049-and-10410/ Share on other sites
HackBook Pro
The GMA 950 works just fine.... But there is a patch you need to install. I think the JaS install had it. zam
Yes, I know that it somewhat works with some mysterious patches... But my point was to find out what those patches do? If the only patch available is still just the old "Jas" patch, which is discussed in this thread, or similar, then it's not something that I would call a solution, it's just messing your system by mixing old and new Mac OS components. The Natit/Titan -method for Nvidia cards is a REAL solution, because it doesn't include any downgrades or ugly hacks to the system. So the question remains: what do the current GMA950 patches do, and does a clean (Natit/Titan-type) sophisticated method to make it work exist?
