I have one HD with 2 partitions: the first with win xp, the 2nd with OSx86.

When I connect my computer a screen (I think it's a UNIX screen) appears and it says "Operating system not found", I need to boot from the installation DVD like in the first boot...

Also I would like to know how to boot now from my XP installation. I heard about pressing f8, but it doesn't work... Thanks

That's not a UNIX screen, it's a BIOS message. It means the BIOS could not find an OS on the active partition. I don't know what could be wrong with the OS X partition, but there's two ways to mark the Windows partition as active again. The easiest way is to boot from the OS X CD and select Startup Disk. Then select the Windows partition and hit restart. Alternatively you could boot off the XP CD and enter the recovery console. From there you will have to type diskpart. Then you need to type list disk, then type select <the disk>, then type list partition, then type select <partition>, and finally type active. Better do it the first way. Although the diskpart method will come in handy if you wish to make a batch file to restart in OS X automatically. That's what I did, and I just dropped a shortcut into my start menu. Using the Startup Disk Pref Pane in OS X, you can get back into windows. Pretty spiffy. Or you could use a boot loader like everyone else, but I like my way better.

What command did you use in your batch file to restart in OS X? I would really like to be able to do this too!
