netfox
Little question; I want to buy a mobo without a firewire port. Is it possible to buy any firewire controller (PCI) for firewire input? Or does osx86 not support that? The mobo I want to buy is GigaByte P35-DS3. The mobo with a firewire controller (GigaByte P35-DS3P) is 45 euro's more expensive. A PCI firewire controller is 9 euro's. Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61956-firewire-controller/ Share on other sites
Proteo
Almost any PCI Firewire card will do the job (I have two of unknown brand attached, they both work just fine). Just make sure they're OHCI compliant (any with a VIA chipset should be OK) and you'll be fine.
