Sailfish
The first think I would do is watch at the top of the screen as you proceed through the install steps and as soon as you have an opportunity to use the utilities (specifically "disk utility"), format the drive right there. If you can do that, it should show up later in the install when a destination is required. If that doesn't work, it is probably because of the SATA HD. See if you can make a change in the BIOS to use the disk as IDE or even anything else. Sometimes notebook BIOS's are pretty restrictive. Try the installation with the new settings. Search this forum for other SATA install work arounds. This problem has cropped up on other boards and other platforms If that doesn't work, try JaS, TubeGirl or Myzar Installations. nefilim
as sailfish said, the controller your hdd on might not be supported. or as i've encountered the same thing as you have, when i repartitioned my hard drive manually with fdisk it showed up in disk utility. see here Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61510-hard-drive-wont-show-up-in-disk-utility/#findComment-436690 Share on other sites
