Hi, I just installed MacOSX 10.4.7 on my laptop with no problems, everything going great! YAY! But, no...stupid me, I forgot to install a multi-booting program (preferably Acronis OS Selector) before formatting and installing!!!! Now whenever I boot my computer it goes straight to that Darwin program that quickly boots straight to that white apple screen. I want to go back to my WinXP partition, but everything I try ends up not working. Any program suggestions or anything to help me boot back to my Windows XP partition? Any help is appreciated.

Oh, and I am willing to destroy my new MacOSX partition, but hopefully no others!!!

Hi bigbob, heh funny name :censored2:

Basically the reason you boot straight into OSX is because it's your active partition, I'm not sure if it's the same with XP but with Vista what you have to do is pop in the Vista install disk - go to repair and select command prompt.

Once in command prompt type:

diskpart

This will load up the tool you need

list disk

This will list the HDD's in your system

select disk n

Select the HDD with the XP install on where N is the number of the disk

If your xp is installed on a partition then:

list partition

This will list the partitions on your selected drive

select partition n

Select the partition which the XP install on where N is the number of the partition

active

This makes your selected partition active

Reboot and it should boot back into XP. I think you can probably use the vista install CD just to get to command prompt so you can do this :)

I hope this helps,

James.
