Nevadabob
Hi, after finally deciding to upgrade my PCI Express (i.e. new motherboard and graphics card) I can now look at building it to be compatible with osx86 too. I have so far bought the XFX 7600GT XXX edition, which according to the compatibility lists to present date works very well with osx86. My only concern now is which motherboard to get. I have an AMD 64 3500+ with a 939 socket. What I would like is a motherboard which can get everything working, if possible. I don't mind if patches are necessary I just want to find a model which will work eventually. I was looking into the Asus a8n sli premium however apparently there are SATA issues with it? SATA support would be a nice thing to have as that is what I store all of my media on. Can anyone please give me a heads up on what motherboards are currently out there for a 939 socket processor which has PCI express too??? Thanks in advance, Tom Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61263-amd-939-motherboard-which-works/ Share on other sites
131
I think as you are waiting for long time, it would be better to sell your computer except hardisk, you can buy a new computer have special hardware that you want with the money from the old computer. regards, Luyi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61263-amd-939-motherboard-which-works/#findComment-435469 Share on other sites
Nevadabob
Thanks for the advice, but I managed to find a tpic on AMD motherboards and so I've decided to go with the asus a8n sli deluxe as this has good compatibility. I will be getting a new PC but it will have to be next summer when I get enough money and exams are over.
