What are we supposed to do? look inside for device ID?

Let me make the purpose of this thread clear:

Apple is using different device ID for their graphics boards than those of ATIs sold over the counter. We need the device ID from your board.

I don't think it is as simple as you said. I have a 2600XT, and have tried to change the ID with mine (0X9588). It doesn't work.

I just wanted to say that using Netkas's method for getting the 2600XT to work, I was able to get my Radeon 2900XT 1GB working 100% including dual display and DVI output. This means full QE/CI/Rotation/Resolution, etc. The only thing that was needed was the ATY_Franklin.kext plugin from Leopard 9A527 in ATINDRV.kext. Apparently Apple took this out in the final build. As soon as I placed this file into my system, everything worked.

I've tried an ATI RADEON 2400XT without success. At the moment it only can run in VESA at fixed res. Parameters:

Supplier ATI (0x1002)

Device ID 0x7183

Revision ID 0x0000

The support of this board is in my opinion VERY important, 'cause it is one of the VERY FEW graphic boards fitting in a half-heigth PCI slot (and - obviously - my DELL case is half heigth, and the built-in board is an INTEL GMA3100 (and not GMAX3100, thus NO HOPE !).

Thanks to everybody for keeping the forum alive

Serjudo, we have the same device ID (94c3) but my Club 3D 2400 PRO 256Mb won't boot OSX86 when inserted.

Did you have to do anything to the bios to make it work? Or change the firmware on the card? What kexts did you use? Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi everybody,

Tell us device ID, model (2400 XT, 2600 PRO, 2900 XT etc.) and manufacturer.

add this ID's also, as they based on AMD 690G chipset series and not working with ATIRadeonX1000.kext:

{ "ATI RADEON Xpress 1200 Series" ,RS600, 1002:793F}

{ "ATI RADEON Xpress 1250" ,RS600, 1002:7941}

{ "ATI RADEON Xpress 1300" ,RS600M, 1002:7942}

tested myself ATIRadeonX2000.kext on 1002:7942,

(chipset from Samsung R20 laptop)

it works with mouse hiding artifact on SmartTextView control

(to fix mouse artifact will require further investigation)
