Phillip van Essen
Hi, my first post here, so: Hello world. I installed 10.4.6 sucessfully on my Toshiba notebook (Intel P4M 1.6Ghz, 512MB). After the installation, I had "berror0" and found out about the necessary activation of the bootflag for the partition. Now, I am able to start into the boot loader. After choosing the installation on my harddisk to fire up, a lot of files are loaded (looks quite similar to kernel load) and when it comes to the graphical user interface, the system goes directly into a new boot cycle. Does anyone know what needs to be done? Best regards, Phillip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60786-startup-problem-with-1046/ Share on other sites

You're not supposed to see that unless you boot with -v as a boot flag in the darwin boot loader. This seems like a graphics problem, but the reboot is bit strange. Anyway, try booting with -x to get into safe mode and see what happens. If you get the same results post back, and this time say what graphics card you have. Hi, It's a NVIDIA Geforce 420Go, I guess (Toshiba P2200, some years old). First, I see a lot of fast file loads, then (now, I'm using the uphuck 1.4.9 r1.3), I see the VESA mode with some more information. System hangs at "uses xyzy buffers of.." Now I look for 10.4.8 or a brandnew MacBook Best regards, Phillip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60786-startup-problem-with-1046/#findComment-432229 Share on other sites
