If you have an external USB DVD-drive, you can install the

"Mac OS X 10.4.9 Intel SSE3 [JaS 10.4.8 AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2.iso + JaS.10.4.9.Combo.Update.Intel.SSE3.zip]"

version.

Set the SATA mode to AHCI, the SATA Port 0-1 native mode to DISABLED.

Boot from USB DVD-drive, and install <_<

I use the official Realtek 8111 lan driver.

ftp://61.56.86.122/cn/nic/RTGMac_v1.1.6.zip

After installation and update, change the

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleVIAATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist file:

<key>VIA SATA Controller</key>

<string>0x2368197b</string>

After this you can use an IDE DVD-ROM connected to JMicron IDE controller.

yes, 10.4.10 koolkal, and its only 1.7gb download

i have a p35-ds3, the install has a patch for network, and you need to download a 70kb file for audio, sata works, ide is wierd, i installed with IDE, and now it dosnt work, but im using 2x250 satas, and its %100, winner!

hey bsm99,

i'm also trying to install on a p35 ds3l, there's a jmicron 368 pata ide controller to which i have attached one ide hd and one pata optical drive. i have another computer i can do the installation on. after installing and booting successfully on the other computer i'd like to move the drive over to the ds3l. if editing the info.plist in viata.kext can enable an ide dvdrom on the jmicron ide can it also enable a boot hd attached to the ide controller? i want to use my two pata slots as well as leave all 4 sata ports open for future expansion, currently the sata ports have nothing attached but the bios is set to ahci and native mode disabled like you say, but when i try to boot from the hd that i installed on a different computer it hangs waiting for boot device, same goes when booting the install dvd, i've tried uphuck 10.4.9 and kalyway 10.4.10 but no jas disks yet because i didn't want to go through the hassle of upgrading. are the viaata.kexts different? have you tried attaching an hd to the jmicron ide controller to see if it's recognised too? can i have your viaata.kext? lol i hope that all makes sense. i am planning on getting a sata drive soon and i could borrow a usb dvd to install but i think having another computer i can install and edit things with before moving the drive should be enough and i don't want to waste those two ide channels because i have lots of pata drives lying around.

thanks

----- Intel dp35dp works with Jas 10.4.8 -----got message: "waiting for root device" mobo intel DP35DP and 2 SATA hdd. Installed from Pionner DVD-RWI also try with 10.4.10 PPF1 XxX but same
1. You need to set your BIOS to AHCI and Enabled for Sata port 0-1.

2. Are you using a usb DVD drive?

is there any version of OSX that will work with my comp? specs are:Gigabyte P35-DS3LIntel Core 2 Duo E6300
Short answer: Yes. I have a nearly identical setup. Look at my howto thread here:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=66470

yes, I am using USB DVD, and the bios is set to AHCI. (don't have in bios enable sata 0-1)

I did clean install but after install mac os doesn't boot. I use USB DVD for setup disk, and only one SATA drive. I setup one partiton - all disk for mac os, but after installation and reboot I got message that there is not boot device, I try to set active partition using terminal and fdisk, but after that I got only blinking cursor at boot. I install XxX 10.4.10 distribution with recommended patches and again without checked-selected anything.

Should I use JAS, XxX, Kalyway and what shoud I select?

Tnx
