I've plugged in a new USB mouse using a USB-to-PS2 converter. Now, the mouse tracking speed is **very** fast. I can't control it.

I changed the "Tracking Speed" in the "Keyboard & Mouse" settings to the *minimum* speed. Even after, the speed is very fast.

Is there a way to make it even slower?

Please help, it's very urgent. I can't use my computer! :(

Thanks in advance

What happens when you just leave it as usb?

My mouse would do this as well, but mainly because I have it connected through a KVM switch. I've since directly connected my mouse to my Hackintosh, and it's been fine since.

Out of curiosity, as BJMoose implied, why aren't you just leaving it USB?

When i connect the mouse directly through the USB, my keyboard stops working!

In that configuration (keyboard-ps2, mouse-usb), it's perfectly working under windows and during boot. But after OS X has loaded, the keyboard is dead. Not even a single key responses, not even the caps lock key!!

PS: I was using a PS2 mouse during installation, but now i've changed to a USB mouse.

Any idea?Thanks!

EDIT:

I realized that Mac OS won't respond to a keyboard connected through PS2 unless a PS2 mouse is also connected, at least for me.

So I've done a dirty workaround. I've plugged in my old PS2 mouse AND the USB mouse, but actually i'm using the USB mouse, leaving the PS2 just plugged in :happymac:

Thanks anyway and if you find another better way, please lemme know.

This is what was happening to me, PS2 Keyboard = PS2 mouse only. Thankfully my keyboard has USB option.

Especially since if I plugged in my keyboard and/or mouse via PS2 USB would stop working.
