cavillor
In Activity Monitor, I see that RAM is classified into four different groups: active, inactive, wired, and free. Obviously I know what active is. And I assumed that "wired" means the memory is on-call for rapid deployment. But ... what's the difference between active and free? And are my assumptions correct? Also ... LimeWire is constantly running at 110-140% of CPU. (Or rather, was constantly doing so before I chucked it for Acquisition.) How is this possible?! aqualeviathan
CPU usage is due to dual cores or possibly hyperthreading.
cavillor
Ah, I do indeed have a dual core Mac mini, so that is probably why.
