digitard
I am installing Jas' SSE2/SSE3 AMD/INTEL patched DVD. I load up the installation GUI, to into drive management and erase my extra SATA disk, start install and it gets about 5 seconds into the actual "installing files" section (works fine through the first portion of installation, hangs at the actual copying section) and the install just stops. My setup: - DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D Socket 939 motherboard - AMD Venice 64 3000+ - 2gigs PC3200 OCZ memory - Nvidia 7800GT PCI-E - 160gig Hitachi SATA HDD (installation drive) The board states that SATA worked in the actual 10.4.8 HCL on the wiki... so I'm confused. It also seemed to happen when I told it to partition the drive, thinking that was the problem, from the OSX Install menu in the disk manager section. I select the drive, hit partition and it hangs about 1/20th of the way into partition. What could be causing this? I don't get any errors... it just... stops. I'll be switching Mobo's in the near future so I guess I can just see if it happens there, but I'd love to get it working before hand to be safe. I'm thinking its SATA related, but I'd really like to keep the SATA drive and not have to limit myself to an old laying around ATA drive. Thoughts? D. rumble291
I got the same but never managed to get past it as i was quite annoyed that i deleted my windows partition in the disk editor lol. ATA drive would probs be better as you dont get issues with them much i have a maxtor drive and it has a compatibility issue with the motherboard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59700-dfi-lanparty-ut-nf4-ultra-d-install-issue/#findComment-425047 Share on other sites
