I have an ASrock K8NF6G-vsta Nvidia nforce 4 chipset (yes i know that sux), 754 AMD Sempron 3000+, i have Sata capability but am using IDE DVD-Rw is on same IDE cable as HDD. And finnaly i know my DVD installation is good because it has worked on other Pc's running almost the exact same stuff(the CPU was an AMD Sempron 2500 that was the only difference

Don't upgrade your bios unless you know what your doing, post your specs please, I'll take a look, make sure you have Jas 10.4.8 ppf1 + ppf2 or Jas ppf1 v1 and get the ppf2 patch. If you dont have any of these; I had problems with anything less.

Well i wasnt going to update my bois but asrock (my mobo company) has an easy installer that works within windows so i did anyway. but it still didnt work anyway heres my spec's and a few screen shots of CPU-z and whatnot

AMD Smepron 754 3000+ Running 1.80 ghz over clocked to 2.13

Asrock (k8nf6g-vsta) Mobo, Nforce4,Nvidia GeForce6 256 shared memory,512 DDR Ram @400 mgz

1 IDE HDD 80 gig by Western Digital, 1 Sata 2 150 GIG HDD also by Western Digital, 1 IDE DVD-RW by Liteonit corp.

Config is as follows 80 GIG IDE is Primary Slave, DVD-RW is Primary Master, Sata HDD is Secondary Alone

first off; if your installing to the IDE HDD, that has to be master and DVD-R slave or CS. Second if your installing from the DVD -R to the IDE HDD on the same cable that is a problem also. Why not try disconnecting your IDE HDD and just installing to your SATA drive.. and if the reason is that you have data on the SATA then your in between a rock and a hardplace because a fresh install wants to wipe all partitions clean. What you could do is if you have a dual boot install with vista or xp on your replicant machine then install acronis true image(home v10 only works with Vista) and make a image of your os x partition then restore it on thee other ASROCK/Sempron on a free partition. You can install On your Sata as long as there is already a primary partition (that your willing to write over(dont worry other partitons wil be fine)and you could make a primary partiton with third party partitoning apps and with vista diskmanager. Or just drop the image to the IDE HDD.
